The #FARBENBEKENNEN Award 2018
In 2018, the Berlin Senate Chancellery presented the #FARBENBEKENNEN award for the first time under the motto "Encounters". The award was given to refugees who, through their outstanding commitment, had established encounters between people from different walks of life and thus reduced division and prejudice ¬– with the aim of creating peaceful co-existence in society.
A jury of several members from the fields of civil society, politics, culture and business selected five outstanding individuals and initiatives from all the entries. The winners were then chosen in an online voting.
